Qvorvm · Trust & Transparency

Privacy, Data Protection & Intellectual Property

Our standards for personal data, confidentiality, content ownership and protection of the Qvorvm platform.

Trust is central to every professional connection. This policy explains how Qvorvm handles personal data and protects its brand, platform, editorial work, technology and other intellectual property against unauthorised copying, extraction and exploitation.

01 / IDENTITY

Who we are

Qvorvm is an international platform connecting legal and advisory professionals, businesses and individuals seeking specialist expertise across jurisdictions.

Depending on the service and the parties involved, Qvorvm may act as a controller of personal data it collects directly, while independent professionals and organisations receiving referrals may act as separate controllers of the information they receive.

Our website is available at qvorvmglobal.com.

02 / DATA CATEGORIES

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with Qvorvm, the information we may process includes:

  • Identity and contact information: name, professional title, business email, telephone number, country and organisation.
  • Professional profile information: qualifications, practice areas, jurisdictions, languages, firm affiliations, biographies, photographs and professional publications.
  • Enquiry and referral information: information submitted through contact, expert-search, membership or referral forms, including the nature of a requested service.
  • Account and membership information: login identifiers, membership status, preferences, communications and related administrative records.
  • Technical and usage information: IP address, device/browser information, security logs and cookie data where collected.
  • Editorial contributions: articles, interviews, professional commentary and information supplied for publication.

Please do not submit sensitive personal data, privileged material or confidential client documents through general enquiry forms unless an appropriate secure process has been agreed.

03 / PROCESSING

Purposes and legal bases

We may process personal information to operate the platform, respond to enquiries, assess professional participation, maintain profiles, administer memberships, facilitate appropriate referrals, publish authorised editorial content, secure our systems and comply with applicable law.

Where the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the UK Data Protection Act 2018, or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) applies, processing must have a valid legal basis. Depending on the circumstances, this may include consent, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, or legitimate interests subject to the relevant balancing assessment. Other applicable grounds will be used only where legally justified.

Where consent is the applicable basis, you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting processing already lawfully performed. Consent is not the sole legal basis for all processing activities.

04 / PLATFORM ACTIVITY

Professional profiles & referrals

Professional information supplied or authorised for publication may appear on publicly accessible Qvorvm profile pages, directories and editorial pages. Public information may be indexed by search engines and viewed internationally.

When you request professional assistance, we may review the nature of your enquiry and share relevant details with a suitable independent legal or advisory professional for the purpose of responding to your request. We aim to limit shared information to what is reasonably necessary.

Qvorvm is not automatically the provider of legal services requested through the platform. Any professional engagement, confidentiality arrangements and subsequent processing by an independent professional are subject to that professional’s own terms and legal obligations.

05 / DISCLOSURE

Disclosure & service providers

Personal information may be disclosed, as appropriate, to authorised Qvorvm personnel, participating professionals receiving relevant enquiries, technology and hosting providers, communications and administrative service providers, and authorities where legally required.

Service providers acting on our behalf should be subject to appropriate contractual, confidentiality and security obligations. We do not describe personal information as being sold to advertisers as part of the platform’s stated purpose; any future advertising or additional data-sharing practices would require appropriate notice and, where applicable, consent.

06 / INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS

International data transfers

Because Qvorvm operates internationally, information may be accessed or transferred across borders, between jurisdictions in which professionals, partners, clients or technology providers operate.

Where applicable, such transfers must comply with relevant legal requirements, including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR international transfer requirements where applicable. Appropriate safeguards may include the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy regulations or decisions, or other lawful transfer grounds, as appropriate. Specific transfer mechanisms depend on the countries, providers and processing arrangements involved.

07 / STORAGE

Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this notice, including managing memberships, responding to enquiries, maintaining authorised professional profiles, preserving appropriate business records and meeting legal obligations.

Retention periods vary according to the data category, applicable legal requirements, contractual obligations and legitimate operational needs. When information is no longer required, we take appropriate steps to delete, anonymise or securely restrict it, subject to lawful retention exceptions.

08 / PROTECTION

Security & confidentiality

We seek to use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. Measures may include access controls, secure authentication, system maintenance, appropriate vendor arrangements and restricted access to personal information.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe that information submitted to Qvorvm has been compromised, please contact us promptly.

09 / YOUR CHOICES

Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to request:

  • Confirmation of processing and access to your personal information.
  • Correction of inaccurate, incomplete or outdated data.
  • Anonymisation, blocking or deletion where legally appropriate.
  • Information about relevant sharing and international transfers.
  • Portability, objection, restriction or withdrawal of consent, where applicable.
  • Review of certain decisions made solely through automated processing, where provided by law.

Requests will be assessed under the law applicable to the particular processing activity, including the UK GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU GDPR where applicable. We may request reasonable information to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

10 / WEBSITE TECHNOLOGY

Cookies & similar technologies

The website may use cookies and similar technologies necessary for login sessions, security, preferences and basic website functionality. Additional analytics or third-party technologies may be used only as configured on the live website and subject to applicable consent requirements.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Where non-essential cookies requiring consent are enabled, an appropriate consent mechanism should be provided. A separate cookie notice or preferences panel may supply more detailed information about active technologies.

11 / AUDIENCE

Children’s information

Qvorvm is designed primarily for professional and business use and is not directed to children. If we become aware that children’s personal information has been collected inappropriately, we will assess and address it in accordance with applicable law.

12 / UPDATES

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes to our platform, services, operational practices or legal requirements. Material changes may be communicated through this page or other appropriate channels where required.

13 / OWNERSHIP

Intellectual property ownership

Unless expressly indicated otherwise, the Qvorvm name, distinctive brand identity, original logos and visual elements, original website text, editorial selections, proprietary publications, page designs, graphic arrangements, original photography or artwork, audiovisual materials, database selection and arrangement, software, source code, workflows and other original platform materials are owned by Qvorvm or used under licence from their respective rights holders.

These materials may be protected by copyright, trademark, database, trade-secret, unfair-competition and other applicable laws under UK and applicable international law. Access to this website does not transfer ownership or grant any licence except the limited permission to view the website for lawful personal or internal business evaluation.

Rights in third-party contributions, professional biographies, articles, photographs, company names and trademarks remain with their respective owners unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise. No statement in this policy claims ownership of third-party material.

14 / RESTRICTED USE

Prohibited copying, reproduction & exploitation

Without prior express written authorisation from the relevant rights holder, visitors, members, competitors and third parties must not:

  • Copy, reproduce, download in bulk, republish, translate, adapt, distribute, sell, sublicense or create derivative works from protected Qvorvm content, designs, publications or original materials.
  • Duplicate or imitate the platform’s distinctive visual identity, layout, presentation, original text, branding or protected interface elements for another website, directory, product or service.
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, systematically extract or compile professional profiles, contact details, referral information, taxonomies, editorial archives or database contents for unauthorised commercial or competitive purposes.
  • Use automated tools, bots or scripts to collect protected content, train or fine-tune AI systems, populate competing directories or build datasets from Qvorvm materials without permission, to the extent such restrictions are enforceable under applicable law.
  • Remove copyright notices, trademarks, attribution, digital identifiers, access controls or other rights-management information, or misrepresent the source of Qvorvm content.
  • Frame, mirror or reproduce substantial parts of the platform in a manner that falsely suggests affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement or ownership.
  • Access non-public areas, circumvent technical safeguards, or disclose confidential member, client or platform information without authorisation.
Important: These restrictions apply to conduct requiring permission under applicable law or breaching enforceable access or contractual conditions. They do not prohibit uses expressly authorised by law, including applicable copyright exceptions, legitimate quotation, mandatory disclosures, or independent creation of unprotected ideas and functional concepts.
15 / BRAND PROTECTION

Trademarks, trade names & brand identity

Qvorvm’s name, logos, distinctive wordmarks, slogans, badges, certificates and other source-identifying signs must not be used in ways that cause confusion, imply endorsement, misrepresent membership or affiliation, or infringe applicable trademark and unfair-competition rights. References necessary to identify Qvorvm accurately may be permitted by applicable law.

Use of the Qvorvm Verified™ designation, digital certificates, membership insignia or partner credentials is subject to the applicable written membership and brand-use permissions. The ™ symbol is a brand claim and does not, by itself, represent that a trademark has been registered in any jurisdiction.

16 / CONTRIBUTOR RIGHTS

Member publications & editorial submissions

Professionals and contributors remain responsible for having the rights and permissions necessary to submit articles, photographs, logos, biographies, quotations and other materials. Unless a separate written agreement expressly transfers ownership, contributors retain their pre-existing intellectual property rights.

By submitting content for publication, a contributor grants Qvorvm a non-exclusive licence, to the extent agreed in the applicable submission or membership terms, to host, format, display, reproduce and promote that content in connection with the platform and its editorial communications. The scope, duration, territories and any right of withdrawal should be specified in those terms.

Third parties must not republish member or editorial contributions without permission from the applicable rights holder or another lawful basis. Contributors must respect client confidentiality, professional secrecy, third-party copyrights, privacy and applicable professional rules.

17 / DIGITAL ASSETS

Platform technology, databases & confidential information

Qvorvm’s original software, custom code, original content organisation, confidential operational documentation, internal matching methods, non-public research, commercial information and access-controlled materials may be protected under applicable intellectual property, confidentiality and contract law. Protection of databases and their contents depends on the law of the relevant jurisdiction and the nature of the material.

Members and authorised users must keep their credentials secure and may access private dashboards and data only for permitted purposes. Publicly available facts, professional names and general ideas are not automatically subject to exclusive ownership merely because they appear on the platform.

18 / ENFORCEMENT

Infringement reporting & enforcement

Qvorvm may investigate credible reports of copying, impersonation, misuse of brand assets, unauthorised extraction or disclosure of protected material. Where appropriate and lawful, Qvorvm may request removal or attribution, suspend access under applicable terms, issue notices to service providers, preserve evidence and pursue available legal remedies.

To report suspected infringement, contact Qvorvm with the relevant URL, a description of the protected material, the alleged unauthorised use and your contact details. We may request proof of ownership or authority before acting.

Enforcement and remedies depend on the facts, applicable law, valid rights and any relevant contractual provisions; this policy does not create copyright or trademark rights in material that is not legally protected.

19 / LEGAL FRAMEWORK

Relationship to terms & applicable law

This page combines a privacy notice with an intellectual-property and acceptable-use statement. It does not replace separate Terms of Use, a membership agreement, a contributor licence, a cookie notice or any mandatory privacy disclosures. Contractual restrictions are enforceable only to the extent properly incorporated into the applicable relationship and permitted by law.

Depending on the activity and jurisdiction, relevant frameworks may include the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR), the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, the Trade Marks Act 1994, the Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997, and the EU GDPR where applicable. International intellectual property protection may also be informed by the Berne Convention, the Paris Convention and the TRIPS Agreement, subject to their scope and implementation in relevant jurisdictions. Mentioning these instruments does not mean that every provision applies to every visitor or transaction.

Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable statutory rights, lawful exceptions to intellectual property protection, or rights of individuals under applicable data protection law. If a provision is unenforceable in a jurisdiction, the remainder should be interpreted consistently with applicable law.
